Meeting 2nd December 2014

This week I decided it was time for a change of "voice" and so one of our members, Asma, kindly offered to do a guest blog.
Over to you Asma.....

'So it was the last full meeting before Christmas break! how fast this year has gone! Time flies when you are having fun!

We still had nice full room for the evening and everyone volunteered to carry out a role as they came in, there is always a nice family welcome in the room with friendly faces greeting you as you walk in :)

We had three guests come along on the night, two returning guests and one brand new guest. One guest even had a shot at the table topics and went on to win table topics award of the night! Always an inspiring thing to see new members getting stuck in!

We also had four speeches on the night to keep us busy, all different topics and individual in their own way. One of the new members did his ice breaker speech - so congratulations to him - the wheels are now in motion and look forward to seeing more speeches in the near future from him!

Two existing members are ploughing through the competent communicator manual and gave impressionable speeches on the night, the final speaker is now on the persuasive speaker manual and gave a very persuasive speech - we were all pretending to be GPs for the speech which made it fun to listen to and engaged the whole audience.

The table topics this evening were Christmas based and everyone had fun talking about presents! Everyone had something to say about the best and not so good presents they have received or given! Arose a few giggles in the room!

The next meeting will have three prepared speeches and then most will reconvene to the bar to have a Christmas dinner party! all are welcome if you let Linda know so she can add you to the list.

Look forwarding to seeing you all next time...remember to try and bring a guest!'
