Meeting 18th November 2014

Another very well attended meeting this week.

An unusual situation.. We started the evening with four guests but ended up with none.  Was it such a bad meeting then?
No - all of the guests became members because they enjoyed it so we must be doing something right.

To those members who haven't been for a while do try and make an effort to come along and meet the new additions to the club.  Also, if your schedule allows it, take the opportunity to stay a bit later for a chat in the bar.  One of the Table Topics this week was "What is your favourite hour of the week?" I remembering thinking at the time that the hour in the Bar after Toastmasters is one of my favourites.

There were only two speeches at the meeting and so we had an extended Table Topics session led by Sanat and there was time for a comprehensive introduction in which he even demonstrated a Table Topic formula so thanks for that Sanat.

As usual a lot of the roles had to filled on the night so if you want to do a role at future meetings go to the D71 website and request it.  The more roles you do the more confident you will feel and the quicker you will be able to complete the Competent Communicator Manual. Taking on a role is also a good way to get involved more in the club and hopefully feel more a part of it.

One thing that was pointed out about the D71 website is that the messaging service is quite slow.  One member contacted our President, Linda, at 8am to give his apologies for not being able to attend but she didn't receive the email till 7pm.  If you need to contact a committee member then it is probably best to do it via normal email.

So well done again on those who attended and made it a busy and vibrant evening.
